Four days and three nights adventure jungle expedition by International students of British School of Kuwait in Khao Yai national park (19 to 22 April 2008)
Getting down from Khao Laem mountain peak
It got dark as we scrambled down the Khao Laem peak. The begining of the
descent is steep on the west face of the mountain.
Khao Laem mountain from the grassland
Our third night stop was in the forest guard station or ranger station of Khao Laem grassland.
From the grassland we could see the mountain that we climbed yesterday.
We approached the peak from the east (from the right in the photo), and descended on the western side
(to the left in the photo). You can see clearly that we went up quite smoothly but got down the steep way.
Khao Laem ranger station
Khao Laem ranger station is a wooden house with rain water tanks, a hand operated underground water pump,
toilets, and a spacious grassland for pitching tents.
Usually two or three rangers are stationed there.

View of grassland and Khao Laem mountain
On the forth day (the last day) we did the easy 4 km walk to Haew Suwat waterfall where the vans were waiting for us.
From the way we walked over a small hill we could see the grassland and Khao Laem mountain beyond.
View of Khao Ron - the highest in Khao Yai national park
On our left (to the south) we saw Khao Ron (1351m) - the highest in Khao Yai national park.
