Four days and three nights adventure jungle expedition by International students of British School of Kuwait in Khao Yai national park (19 to 22 April 2008)
The stream at second night camp
We used this water for cooking, cleaning and taking shower.
The jungle toilet was digged at a place about 30m far from both camp and river.
The third day walk
On the third day we faced a task of a long walk passing over Khao Laem mountain peak (1326 m). We were
to go up the hill and walk on the ridge till the peak, followed by going down the steep descent, easier descent and then
we would walk the grassland to the ranger station for the night stop. Because of
A wild flower
A rock boulder on the mountain ridge
On the ridge line we sometimes walked in the thin forest, sometimes in the thick wood. The mountain
ridge consists of several peaks that made us go down and up several times. Wild chicken including a
rare white chicken were spotted.
View from Khao Laem mountain peak
Under the light sprays of rain we reached the peak. From there we could see the park's highest peak Khao Ron (top left),
and Khao Laem grassland (the light green on the center right). Khao Laem is said to have a cave used by so-called
communist insergents in the 1970's.
Some people say the cave entrance was later dynamited and blocked by rocks and forest overgrowth.
