Four days and three nights adventure jungle expedition by International students of British School of Kuwait in Khao Yai national park (19 to 22 April 2008)
Mushrooms
Mushrooms on the forest floor. The ecology/ecosystem of Khao Yai is rich. It is a very good place for people to study
the nature and natural process as well as to learn about themselves and gain the survival skills self improvement.
Everyone nowadays should encourage the friends to take interest in survival skills in difficult situations.
More natural disasters and unknown problems maybe waiting for us to face in the future - partly due to our own
over exploitation of the world.
Walking in the thick forest
Long tropical jungle treks need good preparation. In the difficult landscape and weather you can expect
slippery ground, stony yard, rocky places, steep and narrow trail, thick plantation with thorns, insects, muddy land,
getting lost, little or no water in the river, too much water in the river or floods, etc. and all of these.
On a typical multi day trek we would carry only the bare necessary items. For a 3 to 3 days trek it could be
as much as 10 Kg per person.
Thorns again
Thorns again! On an out of the beaten track trekking the people in the front have to carry a knife to cut
branches like this to make a safe way to walk. Generally a multi-day trek in Khao Yai national park needs
one or two staff rangers, a map, gps global positioning device, compass, knife, flash lights, spare batteries,
and so on.

Looking into the sky
The atmosphere in a jungle is good for your health. It provides clean Oxygen, nice scenery good for your eyes;
and like everywhere things and scenery keep changing. After walking in the thick jungle shade for long hours
you can suddenly see the sky through the opening in the forest cover.
The stream for second night camp
We got more water at the second night camp as the stream at which we camped was larger.
Still it was shallow, sandy and a bit muddy.
