Ban Thipogyi village homestay
This is the house where we did homestay. We cooked our dinner and breakfast in their kitchen.
Toilet and shower hut is outside. They provided us mosquito nets, mats, a dining table; and we
were allowed to their fire wood and kitchen utensils.
Ban Thipogyi village to Mae Klong river walk
Next day morning, after the breakfast, we left the village and took the trail to the east in the direction of
Lay Kathit mountains on Mae Klong river. On the way we passed by small streams. This one was the last
water available naturally before Mae Klong river on the eastern side of Lay Kathit mountains.
View of Mae Klong river from Lay Kathit mountains
At about 1 p.m. we reached to a view point overlooking the panorama views of Mae Klong river
far down below.
After lunch, and enjoying the scenery we moved along the mountain side to the second viewpoint closer to
Mae Klong river.
Another view of Mae Klong river from Lay Kathit mountains
From the second viewpoint we could see the river closer yet still far below.
Could yuou see some people in the river?
Two elephants and a baby elephant crossing Mae Klong river
Forth night camp on Klotho stream bank
The going down from the viewpoint to the river is quite a steep descent.
We used ropes at some sections for safe and faster descent. After that we walked
mostly alongside Mae Klong river, passed by paddy farms and finally arrived Klotho canal
(downstream of Thilorsu waterfall). We camped on the northern bank.
