Chiang Rai, Doi Pha Tang, Thai-Laos border mountain viewpoint, Doi Phu Kha national park in Nan, Sirikit dam lake, Loei province, Nong Khai (27 Oct - 04 Nov 2007)
Sunset view in Doi Phu Kha national park
Nan province is literally a rolling hills after hills of
high and rugged ranges that are on the same geographic plate with Laos' Xayaboury province.
There are many interesting places where tourists can easily spend several days without getting bored.
However please take note distances are far from one to another on the curvy mountain roads.
We spent just two nights in Doi Phu Kha national park
Each day we took one day-return trek and stayed in a comfortable and cosy bungalow. We would say that is
quite a short time for such a large province even for an introductory trip.
Sun down view in Doi Phu Kha national park - at the end of a nature trek
Leeches are almost everywhere and you need preparation for it. You can buy leech socks at the park.
There are lot of mountains that you can go up with a ranger; white water rafting is also possible in the
eastern part of the park. Caving and waterfall trek are also available here. Chompu Phu Kha flower is a
famous species in the park.

Enjoying good weather and fertile land the jungle plants are healthy, green; and this region is
the source of water, Oxygen and other life supporting essential materials for people and animals
in Nan province.
A bungalow bedroom in Doi Phu Kha national park
There are some bungalows in the park that you can book online or at the royal forest department in
Bangkok. Remember the park is quite large and moving around needs some sort of transport.
