Jungle trek and camping in Umphang along Klotho stream, Kotha and Thilosu waterfalls : 17 - 22 Feb 2007
National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) Gold Level Survival Trek of 7 students
Cooking rice for dinner. We don't find good size stones so we use pieces of dead wood to prop the pot.
I will take care of eggs.
Teacher and her student on Klotho river. 'Huay Klotho' as the locals call it provides water
for villages and farms along its journey from Thai-Burma border. It finally flows into
Mae Klong river below (to the south of) Ban Platha Karen village - our starting point.
A scene of our third night camp, 20 February 2007. After three day walks we need to wash and hang clothes.
Look at clothe lines in the back.
Next day (21 February 2007) morning, our last day of adventure survival walk, we continue to
hike in the middle of jungle carrying all our gear and stuff. Food is now reduced, but we feel
we are carrying the same weight as on the first day.
Caving on the way. A cave in the middle of the trail (Thilorsu to the road 1288) provides us
a rest place.
