The veranda (porch) of the guesthouse is a good place to sit, look around and ponder. Opposite beyond the Thanlyin river is Karen state in Myanmar. Right: A beautiful scene along the Moei (Thaung Yin) river further south of Ban Sop Moei. It is upstream journey - on the right is still Myanmar, and on the left is Thai.
Another river intersection, this time it is Yuan river and Moei river. Yuan which originates in the hills around Mae Sariang town flows to the south and then turns westward to meet Moei river here. At this point if we go right it will be upstream on the Moei (not seen in the picture). Right: Going upstream on Yuan river - now completely inside Thailand. The small huts on the hills are Mae La Oon (refugee) camp.
