Thailand Photos: Climbing Khao Luang (Nakhon Si Thammarat), and Ranong : 11 - 16 April 2005

After the dinner and a talk we took a group picture before going to sleep in the tents at the peak. It was a bit cold and windy. The temperature was perhaps around 12 to 15 degrees C. |
| The trees at the peak of Khao Luang mountain. They looked strange at night time. Through the trees we saw the lights from Nakhon Si Thammarat town. | ![]() |

Morning view from the peak. Clouds were moving between the hills gathering strength to drop a rain. |
| Just before we went down it started raining in the valley in the northern face of the mountain. We were above the rain. We just hoped that on the trail back to Kiriwong village (to the south) it should be no rain. | ![]() |

Arriving Kiriwong village.
Going down the steep hill was as difficult as climbing it. The decent gave us pain at the knees. We started at about 8:30 a.m. from the peak, took rest at several places, and cooked and ate lunch at a place by the river just on the park boundary. At about 3:30 p.m. we arrived back at Kiriwong village. On the way down we received only a light rain shower for about 10 minutes. |
