Most of the Wats (Buddhist temple buildings) in Laos have the similar roofing designs. Wat or Wihan or Monastery or Kyaung in South Asia - Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka, is a place where many activities related to (Buddhist) religious traditions and learning are set. Monks and nuns live there. Learning or debate on Philosophy of religion, teaching, ceremonies, and other Buddhist festivals that usually take place on full moon days are arranged in Wat. Some Buddhist monasteries also teach school subjects to children of poor families. Travellers can also ask for permission to overnight stay at the village Wat.
