Tham Ting or Pak Ou caves
Pak Ou caves are located opposite to where Nam Ou river drains into Mekong river.
All tourist boats stop here for a visit of lower and upper caves. Behind the caves are village trails ones can walk to
the villages in the hills.
Kuangsi waterfall lower level
After the check in at a hotel in Luang Prabang we headed south for a walk to famous Kuangsi waterfall.
Large volume flow of water was clearly evident since the lower level of the fall. July to October are the
times when you would see waterfalls of South asia overflowing; with the possibility of river flood, floods in the caves; and roads and bridges
unpassible by high water level or land slide in the less developing places.

Top of Kuangsi waterfalls
The trail to the top of the fall was wet and muddy. At the top it was difficult or even dangerous to walk through the river to the other bank, so we
turn back and walk down the same route to the bottom.
