Pak Ou caves (Tham Ting) on the Mekong river bank is located opposite to the meeting point of Mekong and Song Ou rivers. Song Ou river flows north to south from Phongsali province and enters Mekong river. Inside the caves are many Buddha images brought in by generations of visitors. Parts of both lower cave and upper cave are open to visitors for an entrance fee.
